Kungfu Fighting

Posted by `jiehao on February 8, 2007

Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho

Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening,
But they fought with expert timing

There were funky China men
From a funky China town
They were chopping them up
They were chopping them down

It was an ancient Chinese art,
And everybody knew their parts
And they’re fading to a slip
And a kickin’ from the hip

Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing

There was funky Billy Chin
And little Sammy Chung
He said, “Here comes the big boss!” huh-huh!
“Let’s get it on!”

We took a bow and made a stand
Went on swaying with the hand
So his motion made me skip
Now we’re into a brand new trip

Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
But they did it with expert timing

Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho
Oh ho ho ho

Keep on keep on keep on keep on

Everybody was Kung-Fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact, it was a little bit frightening
Make sure you have, expert timing

Don’t laugh, I LIKE THIS SONG OK? Oldies aren’t that bad, especially when you have songs like this which get you up and kickin’. So everybody let’s get up and KUNGFU FIGHTING.

Well, today is actually quite a nice day to speak of. We watched ‘A State of the Mind’ during GP. It was about North Korea’s communism, and how the people lived, how Pyongyang was actually nothing but a ’showcase city’, and the mentality of DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea).

Watching the film has really set me to think many stuffs. If Singaporeans can be just a quarter as faithful to the Singapore government as the koreans are to their ‘General’, Singapore would actually be a much nicer place to live in. People will truly appreciate what our founding fathers have done for us. People will not grumble at the simplest change in government policies. There will not be other people trying to interfere with the government’s decision making, and no clowns trying to make a big hoo-hah by challenging the government without a sound plan, and going out there slandering others.

And watching how naive, how unexposed the people of DPRK are, you will realise that they are actually living very happily, as if their only cause is to train hard for the Mass Games, and they are very devoted to this cause. They do not need to worry as much as we do. This documentary will make you wonder if the competitive world we live in now is truly a bliss or not?

The only thing is that the propaganda is very strong in DPRK. People see the ‘General’ as a god living in the mortal world with them. They do not worship him, but they love him with their hearts. It is as if North Korea has established their own religion in their country. Perhaps it is how their country prevent their citizens from being corrupted by the world outside.

And there are actually some funny parts in the show to mention about. The people sing karaoke with their propaganda songs. The family cursing ‘Bloody Americans’ when their electricity was reinstated after a blackout.

I would say this movie has really made me think much about many things.

07S13 has declared tomorrow an off-day for the class =D

Bio lecture was rather enriching I would say. I realise that I learn something new about my class everyday. And yes, I can easily know when the guys are arriving for tutorials, because they will start making the tune of the ‘cowboy sound’. That’s how I figured out they were somewhere nearby before Bio tutorial.

And tomorrow, we will get our results. I hope the best for all of you.
