Holy Sunday

Posted by `jiehao on September 30, 2007

Tomorrow’s chalet!!! Can you believe it peeps?

Anyway, I pretty much cleaned up all the stuffs today, and the table is really back in order!!! Here’s proof that I did my work and cleaned up.

As you can see, besides the dictionary and whatever’s below it, the rest of the mess are not mine, and look at the shelf!!! Suddenly so neat right? Cleaning up is really a very gratifying thing to do. (don’t look at the computer table, it’s supposed to be that messy so that I can easily find all the things I need)

All the best for tomorrow’s Chinese people. To all Saints, all the best for exams this week, I know that your toughest papers are all this week, but hang on, it’s just one week =)

And I forgot to reply to Sijia’s comment. HI SJ YOU LAZY LAZY GIRL!!! Hope to see all of you after exams or something, I really haven’t seen you peeps for ages.

Whatever’s coming up after promos, will kill all of us, I swear…

Remy – Hey There Khalilah

Posted by `jiehao on September 29, 2007

Hey there, Khalilah
What’s it like in Baghdad City
I’m 3,000 miles away
But girl tonight you’re looking pretty
Can’t you see
You’re looking really hot, baby
Literally

Hey there, Khalilah
I am at my latest booking
But I’m writing you tonight
To say how much I miss your cooking
So I sob
Wipe all my tears up with a mop
There’s no kebab

Oh, it’s how you cook the meat
Oh, it’s how you cook the meat
How you cook the meat

Hey there Khalilah
You stay good and cook some coosa
Til I’m back there making money
At the Improv in Falluja
Give it time
I’m bombing really bad this time
No, not that kind

Hey there, Khalilah
If I must eat one more Twinkie
Well I might just have to lick my arm
And then bite off my pinky
What a scene
The only Arab food I see’s
Attached to me

Oh, it’s how you cook the meat
Oh, it’s how you cook the meat
How you cook the meat

3,000 miles is far away
But I just want kebab today
I’d eat it all up with a knife and fork
Why am I so far from you
All they have here is bar-b-que
Which would be good except I don’t eat pork
The ketchup here is really bad
The mustard’s not a deadly gas
This pizza box tastes better, that’s for sure
And it’s cardboard

Hey there, Khalilah
You’re tahini on falafal
No, you’re not sesame paste
But girl I just can’t eat without you
So you know
I’ll have kebab when I get home
And chug rose water like a pro
Cuz I do not like Domino’s
Oh no I don’t

Ok, I guess this is the very first spoof song I’m posting up here. Jun Jie and I want to composed the van der Waals song, but we haven’t got time due to promos, so wait up people.

Firstly, before I get any official thing started, I would like to say…

Happy 400th Post!!!

Soo people, I would gladly like to announce that the promos are UNOFFICIALLY OVER. Yes, I’m left with Chinese, which I will start after this post, Naruto and bathing. I’m really looking forward to chalet on Monday!

For most of these 2 weeks, it’s been pretty much studying, studying and more studying. But I really want to thank those studying in VS (mainly Jarren, Calvin, Daniel, Shannon, Yane, Jun Jie, Wyemin and Matt Ho) for accompanying me during these trying times. It was a particular tough week to go through with all that freaking out while studying and stress over don’t know what stuffs.

Now that exams are over (unofficially), the things to come are gonna take us by storm too. Let’s see…open house, WR, OP, IR&R, OCIP, HnF overseas camp (I need to find an overseas camp agent, anyone got any suggestions?), any other stuffs that might be coming up in that matter. But as you can see most of the stuffs coming up are from PW, so yeah…

So for yesterday, after the Bio paper, we stayed back in class to collect class photo and had some discussion about chalet with Mr Lim, then had some announcement from Mr Lim regarding PW. Then while a group headed to Vivo City, another group of us went to Yongsheng’s house. As we said, we introduced Yongsheng’s sis to his ‘future sis-in-law’ and waited while he changed, get another bag and took money out. Then we headed down to Vivo City. Had our lunch at some Hong Kong kopitiam, and went to meet up with the rest at Toys’R US. Then we headed to watch our movie, The Nanny diaries.

The movie was not that fantastic a movie, but it surely taught everyone of us something at the end of the day. Although it was beauty that kept me through the movie most of the way (Scarlett Johansson was the nanny!), ultimately we all really learnt that family ties meant more than everything to us. It also taught us that being ourselves is most important, not being someone who others want us to be, because afterall, it is OUR life, in our hands.

Oh yes, there’s this particular scene I remember. She saved the little kid’s (Grayer) life, and here’s the conversation.

Annie: Are you alright? Do you belong to anybody?
Grayer: *runs over and hugs her* I belong to you!

I swear at that moment, many guys wished they were that little kid.

So to all parents out there, the kid is your own flesh and blood, so it is only right that YOU spend time with them and YOU raise them to be the a useful person in the society, not leave the child rearing job to a stranger!

Good Charlotte – Something Else

Posted by `jiehao on September 16, 2007

She is a diamond, I am a stone
I come from nowhere, she’s been to Rome
Her dads is lawyer and mines not around
She has good manners, I’m rough all around

But you could come from something, you could come from nothing
You could be a princess, you could be a working man
But in the end…

We all want something else
We all want something we can’t have
We all want something else
We all want something strange to us
Maybe a roll in the dirt, or it’s a seat in first class
We all want something we can’t have

She wants to go to restaurants in Beverly Hills and people stare
But I don’t care it’s just what she grew up around.
She drags me to parties where people ask me where I went to college
She knows damn well I barely finished school
She knows a lot about yearly salaries and trust funds and dividends
She knows that I don’t really care at all
But we got together and it’s working ok

You could come from something, you could come from nothing
You could be a princess, you could be a working man
But in the end…

We all want something else
We all want something we can’t have
We all want something else
We all want something strange to us
Maybe a roll in the dirt, or it’s a seat in first class
We all want something we can’t have

Well you can spend your whole life looking for something,
Something that might be right in front of your eyes,
But you’ll be looking for something else you’ll never find

We all want something else
We all want something we can’t have
We all want something else
We all want something strange to us
We all want something else
We all want something we can’t have
We all want something else
We all want something strange to us
Maybe a roll in the dirt, or it’s a seat in first class
We all want something we can’t have

——————————————————————————————————————

Isn’t this very true for all of us? We all want something that we can never get, yet why do we want it so much, and just chase after it so incessantly. It’s like how it’s said in ‘Click’, the leprechaun chases after the rainbow to find the pot of gold, but in the end all he found was cereals.

So comes the end of the week, or rather, the start of a new week now. Funny how you can look at certain things both ways eh? This week’s been pretty much revision, revision and more revision, so much that there’s only two lectures that we learnt something new, though not many people seemed interested in learning now that promos are arriving real soon.

I shall skip all the mundane happenings this time and go to the highlight of the week. Yes, the birthday celebration for Calvin and Seth on Friday. While on the bus on the way to Marina Bay, we met Ivan Lim on the bus. I was the first to spot him and asked Mark if that was Ivan, and after much observation, it was really him, so Shannon tried all the different ways to call him out. Finally we caught his attention, and told him we were going to celebrate Calvin’s birthday, so he decided to surprise Calvin with us, but only could join us later. We arrived at Marina Bay while waiting for George, and Ivan, then Ivan appeared as the surprise for Calvin, and he all headed down to the steamboat BBQ place while Ivan went off.

For once in don’t know how many doggone ages, we managed to have such a big crowd of peeps gathering for dinner (there were 14 of us including Mr Oh). The night was spent well eating, taking food, cooking, talking, taking picture, and of course making John jealous.

So after much time spent at Chong Pang, we headed off, having taken some group photos with Seth’s very interesting birthday present, and went our ways home/to VS.

Things just always feel right with these people around.

Exams are in 5 days, work hard for the promos people!

[addon at 9.01PM]

Oh yeah before I forget, I’ve got shortlisted for the OCIP to Chengmai, and I’ve been allocated to the Logistics Committee (yeah, once again). We’ve had a meeting on Wednesday and basically we got to know our committee. Our committee consists of (in order of contact list) Anushiya, Louis, Elizabeth, Xing Zhong, Hian Huat, Tracey and me, with Ms Chia being our teacher. Our programme will continue after the promos, so it’s still low profile now I guess.

Talk About Candid

Posted by `jiehao on September 11, 2007

Yane: Has any of your teachers walked out of the class before?
Calvin: Yes. After the lessons end.
Everyone: Burst out laughing…
Calvin: Sorry, I just had to do that =D
