From Shan to Rosalyn

Posted by `jiehao on May 30, 2008

While listening to 987FM’s podcasts, chanced upon this song…

Shan Wee's Serenade

Ok…SIZE 10?! That’s 1 and a half size to 1 size bigger than what I wear. But you know, this podcast pretty much inspired me to try to write my own version of the song…

Anyways, my opinion still doesn’t change, I still think Roz is hot =D

Ai Yo…Technology Arh

Posted by `jiehao on May 29, 2008

John was a salesman’s delight when it came to any kind of unusual gimmick. His wife, Marsha, had given up long ago trying to get him to change.

One day, John came home with another of unusual purchases: A robot that John claimed was actually a lie detector. It was about 5:30 that afternoon when Tommy, their 11-year-old son, returned home from school. Tommy was over 2 hours late.

“Where have you been? Why are over 2 hours late getting home?” asked John.

“Several of us went to the library to work on an extra credit project,” said Tommy.

The robot then walked around the table and slapped Tommy, knocking him completely out of his chair.

“Son,” said John, “this robot is a lie detector, now tell us where you really were after school.”

“We went to Bobby’s house and watched a movie,” said Tommy.

“What did you watch?” asked Marsha.

“The Ten Commandments,” answered Tommy.

The robot went around to Tommy and once again slapped him, knocking him off his chair once more.

With his lip quivering, Tommy got up, sat down and said, “I am sorry I lied. We really watched a tape called ‘Sex Queen’.”

“I am ashamed of you son,” said John. “When I was your age, I never lied to my parents.”

The robot then walked around to John and delivered a whack that nearly knocked him out of his chair.

Marsha doubled over in laughter, almost in tears and said, “Boy, did you ever ask for that one! You can’t be too made with Tommy though. After all, he is your son!”

With that, the robot immediately walked around to Marsha and knocked her flying out of her chair.

To my dear readers, do not trust technology too much…

Cheap cheap, good good

Posted by `jiehao on May 29, 2008

I think the VJC bookshop aunty really has some good lobang for the items she sells man, and this is not just based on wild guessing, but I have evidence! The Energizer batteries (which are of higher quality than what you usually buy) costs $2.20 per packet of a pair. Usually elsewhere they sell it for like $2.60 or more (especially if you go 7-eleven to buy it).

And just yesterday, I went to the bookshop in my neighbourhood to get the Scream City lecture pad, and there you see the price difference. VJC bookshop sells it for something like $1.90, while I bought mine at $2.20!

There, this should encourage people to buy more things for her even though she sells very little variety of stuffs, and Aaron Low calls her a fat, lazy cow.

四分钟?

I can’t help but find it amusing that an English album, like Madonna’s Hard Candy (which is a pop music disaster by the way) is actually advertised fully in MANDARIN. I repeat…MANDARIN.

Like Madonna is ‘ma dang na’ and JayTee (Justin Timberlake) is ‘jia si ding’. And if I’m not wrong not wrong, Hard Candy is something like ‘bang bang tang’ or something like that…

Disaster of advertisement…

Beach Boys – Wouldn’t It Be Nice

Posted by `jiehao on May 25, 2008

Wouldn’t it be nice if we were older
Then we wouldn’t have to wait so long
And wouldn’t it be nice to live together
In the kind of world where we belong

You know its gonna make it that much better
When we can say goodnight and stay together

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could wake up
In the morning when the day is new
And after having spent the day together
Hold each other close the whole night through

The happy times together we’ve been spending
I wish that every kiss was never ending
Oh wouldn’t it be nice

Maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true (run, run, run)
Baby then there wouldn’t be a single thing we couldn’t do
We could be married (we could be married)
And then we’d be happy (then we’d be happy)

Wouldn’t it be nice (ba ba ba ba ba ba ba ba)

You know it seems the more we talk about it
It only makes it worse to live without it
But lets talk about it
Oh, wouldn’t it be nice

Good night my baby
Sleep tight my baby

CLASSIC, BEACH BOYS! Such a dreamy song if you ask me. Yeah, wouldn’t it be nice to grow old so fast that you cannot adapt to the adult life due to the extremely fast pace then you breakdown then you wish time were slower then you wished you were a kid again.

Ok, the past two weeks has had lots of ups, and downs, ups and downs and left and rights and center and everywhere in between.

I’ve been to two match supports, and witnessed Victory twice, and defeat twice. To sum it up, it was a good start, and a good end.

Last Wednesday was the Soccer Girls finals. It was a damn close fight, and VJ girls won through penalty shootout. I guess everyone there would know how tense the situation was, especially during the penalty shootout, where there was silence throughout the stadium.

Friday was the Hockey Boys’ semi-finals to watch James. It damn sad if you ask me. By middle of the first-half, the team’s morale was already down, so there was nothing much to say about the game. Some mistakes were not supposed to be made but well…it’s over anyways…

This Wednesday’s soccer match left everyone stunned by the start of the game due to the goal which wasn’t meant to be scored. And well, it was really upsetting to see so many missed opportunities. The scoreline could’ve been 4-2 (with VJ scoring 4 of course), but well, element of unpredictability. And as many could see, some of the opponents played really dirtily behind the referee’s back (the referee doesn’t have eyes behind his back). But well, our boys lost with dignity. At the same time, we received good news of the tennis girls’ and hockey boys’ victory.

Thursday match was really exciting, as both hockey girls teams from SA and VJ really played at their best. And being the first time seeing Hitomi (FYI: SA’s no.7) play, I really think she plays very well, thus I complemented her when I saw her online. It was really a situation where either side could win. Apparently VJ won of course. Anyways, I met up with Alicia, Beitris and Sijia. It was all because Beitris asked me to treat her ice-cream, so Alicia tagged along, and Sijia just came out to meet us. Already broke as I was, I still treated them lah. But most importantly, I MET XIAOMEI AT DELTA!!! I had to leave after less than a minute though, so it was a really short meeting with xiaomei. HI XIAOMEI IF YOU’RE READING THIS.

So, that’s it for the match supports.

Last Wednesday, the whole V-block 3rd level electricity was down. I first realised it only when I stepped into classroom, and realised the air-con could not be switched on, neither could the lights. Even the toilet lights were down. I had to go the 4th floor toilet just to perform the ‘rituals’. How irritating. We returned after the career talks to the class, and irritated Mrs Lim by complaining about the electricity. She went down to the general office and we had lights and aircon up after 20 minutes of lesson time.

As for Thursday, it was Edmund’s birthday. We pretended to be ignorant of his birthday, and scolded him for not telling us of it. We surprised him later with his presents and birthday cake of course. And yes, we made him do something really spastic. Here goes:

Gotcha Edmund!!!

Guitar concert was really a blast. Our school’s guitar ensemble has a few talents, and Csus4 performance was really amusing. The show was worth more than the $10 we paid for the tickets. No wonder why there was a full house!

Saturday’s JTS had a change of venue due to the lack of space in Fish & Co, but Swensens was good enough! It was fun mingling with our junior class (especially tricking Joshua into the ‘ling ling’ game), and taking photos of the Retarded 3 (Yong Sheng, Yuhan, Siyuan). I would say they did not disappoint us! I’m not here to discuss about how I’m disgusted with some people’s behaviour, so no bitching here!

I visited the polyclinic on Friday to have my swollen eye checked, and the bill was only something like $5.50! Guess it was worth my 2 hours of waiting, although the doctor was really damn unprofessional in the way she handled my condition.

As for Strings Concert, I guess it was something which requires real music enthusiasts to appreciate. But we had our fun mocking and shouting to Edmund. One particular incident was that we shouted ‘BYE EDMUND!’ and he replied ‘BYE!’. Thanks for the wonderful performance Edmund!

Holidays have started, and mugging should start soon, so jiayou everyone for your CT2. Happy mugging!!!
